House Hasson has been supporting the United Way since it’s inception and that once again his company would continue to match dollar for dollar employee contributions to the United Way

Don Hasson kicked off the annual United Way fundraising program this year on Wednesday October 17th 2012. In his speech Don Hasson emphasized that “House Hasson has been supporting the United Way since it’s inception and that once again his company would continue to match dollar for dollar employee contributions to the United Way”.

In addition, Don Hasson was proud to introduce our first ever former University of Tennessee football coach and 2012 Hall of Fame recipient Phillip Fulmer. Fulmer gave a wonderfully moving speech about how the local community plays an important role supporting the United Way and of course peppered his speech with examples of how teamwork and football are closely related to how the United Way operates as a whole in the local community. Humor and endearment made the stories and situations hit home and everyone was moved by coach Fulmer’s speech.

Each year throughout the fundraising week, House Hasson has United Way agency representatives take turns explaining to the company employees what their agency does and how their United Way funds benefit the citizens in the community. This year’s theme was children’s issues.

As the week wound down House Hasson had their annual United Way company picnic on Friday October 19th. Dick Morgan, House Hasson’s Lumber Salesmen and resident barbeque expert, prepared smoked pork barbeque and tender grilled chicken. The lunch was followed up with a raffle of 25 items contributed from local companies including Pilot Corporation, Regal Cinemas, and The Wilderness Hotel to list a few.

We would like to thank everyone who contributed their time, raffle items and Dick Morgan for the fantastic food at the company picnic.

Of course none of this would be possible without the employees who generously gave to The United Way to help with the very worthwhile causes to assist those in need. Thank you for all that you have given to those who are in need.

We look forward to the event next year and may God Bless you all.
